Over the summer I asked Camille if I could come to her home in the country and photograph her. She graduated high school with one of my younger sisters and I’ve always loved her sweet spirit. She’s a kind person with a beautiful smile and a heart to match. I was thrilled that she agreed to let me go out and take some portraits of her. The great thing about doing personal portraiture is I get to explore and try out different things. This session was even more special because it was one of the last ones I did with my faithful older camera before I bought Marco, my Mark ii. :]
We started the session in a large patch of Queen Anne’s Lace. Camille was playing with something by her legs at one point. When she looked down, she told me she was pretty sure it was poison ivy. I felt a little itchy after that myself for a bit! I’m really glad neither of us actually ended up with poison ivy after the fact, though!

This next one reminded me of something befitting a story book…

Camille, you are beautiful, my dear!

Fireflies were out, though they were swiftly transformed into little yellow bokeh-dots. ;]

Camille, thank you for being my model on a terribly hot and sticky July day! I loved photographing you and just being around you for awhile again. Hopefully we’ll see each other again soon! :]
